Welcome
Welcome
Thank you for finding the time to browse our website.
Hollingworth School is a great place to be; with a friendly atmosphere, hardworking and well behaved children, dedicated and talented staff, and an interested, supportive community. Our Ofsted inspection in January 2009 recognized this and you can read the full report by following the link. OFSTED report 2009
We are a long established school, having reached our centenary year in 2009, and are committed to the principles of healthy, active and environmentally ‘friendly’ living. The school has an active School Council, which provides a voice for all children throughout the school. We also hold Healthy School status; we regularly support the work of charities - both local and national.
Our extensive grounds consist of a flourishing pond at the rear of the school, an area of garden that serves as an Early Years’ outdoor play area, and an incredible area of woodland that attracts a wide range of wildlife!
We have an active and very supportive PTA, and an equally proactive Governing Body that works positively in the best interests of the children of the school.
From May 2009, Longdendale Children's Centre, which is on the edge of our school field, will be open for business. This facility serves the whole of the Longdendale valley and presents an excellent opportunity for families with pre-school children.
