Thank you for finding the time and curiosity to have a look! I am Phil Davies, and have been privileged to have been Headteacher here at Hollingworth since January 2002.
My predecessor, Dave Little had been here for almost 20 years, and it is easy to understand why! Hollingworth school is a great place to be with a friendly atmosphere, a super collection of hardworking and well behaved children, great, hard working staff, and an interested, supportive community! Our Ofsted inspection in January 2009 recognized this (there is a link into this if you have a few minutes to have a look).

This website has been 'built' over the course of 2008-2009 and it will continue to change as the weeks go by. We are very proud of it. So proud, in fact, that we have spent considerable amounts of time updating, revising and adding to it! We are a long established school, having reached our centenary year (2009), and trying hard to commit to the principles of healthy, active and environmentally ‘friendly’ living. The school has an active School Council, which provides a voice for the children throughout school. The school has Eco and Healthy School status; we regularly support the work of charities- both local and national. We have a flourishing pond at the rear of the school, a great area of garden that serves as an Early Years’ outdoor play area, and an incredible area of woodland that attracts a wide range of wildlife! We have an active and very supportive PTA, and an equally proactive Governing Body that works positively in the best interests of the children of the school.
From May 2009, Longdendale Children's Centre, which is on the edge of our school field, will be open for business. This facility serves the whole of the Longdendale valley and presents an excellent opportunity for families with pre-school children.
